Hiking trails in Bran easy to medium

Ecotouristic Route T9: Moieciu de Sus – Amfiteatrul Transilvania

Climb time: 1h30min
The ecotouristic route T9 “La amfiteatru” in Moeciu de Sus, covers 10.5 km and takes about 3 hours round trip. The trail starts from the centre of the village and is marked with orange signs. It offers an escape through forests and valleys to the Amfiteatrul Transilvania, and spectacular views of the Bucegi Mountains. This hike connects us with nature and rural splendor, crossing varied landscapes and encountering diverse flora.

Valea Glejeriei – Mălăiești Cabin

Climbing time: approx. 2h30min
A relatively easy route, after a slightly steep climb, the trail takes you through quiet forests and sunny glades. Following the course of the Mălăiești stream, you reach the Mălăiești Valley. This opens up with an absolutely breathtaking view of the wind-carved cliffs of the Bucegnes. The Mălăiești hut is a place loved by all hikers who have walked the Bucegii. Here you can eat an excellent bean soup with smoked meat, which will restore your energy after the climb. From the hut, the trail can continue up to the plateau, to Vf. Omu, or to the Țigănești refuge.

Fântâna lui Botorog – Curmătura Cabin

Climbing time: approx. 2h30min
From the Refugiul Domniței guesthouse, the drive through Zărnești and then Plaiul Foii offers a great view of the Piatra Craiului Massif. Arriving at the famous Botorog’s Fountain, you can park the car and start the climb through the forest to the meadows at the foot of the massif. These places will excite mushroom lovers, as here you can find various species, from hribi to chanterelles and gebes in season. After the first part of the hike, which contains a steeper climb, the road is quite smooth and at the end you are greeted by the welcoming Curmătura hut. Here too you can enjoy various dishes prepared daily by the hut keepers.

Poarta Valley Forest Road

The Valea Porții forest trail, accessible from the Bran-Ciubotea Mountain Rescue Refuge, is a smooth trail, perfect for families, crossing a fairytale landscape with quiet rivers and sunny glades. Ideal for all ages, this trail offers an oasis of peace in nature, enriched in July by wild sparrows, turning every walk into an enchanting discovery.

Hiking trails in Bran for experienced hikers

Bran – Poarta – Omu Peak – Bran

Round trip time: 10-14 hours
A 22km route that requires preparation and endurance, the ascent of the Bucegons through the Gaura Valley takes you through parts less touched by tourists than the side facing the Prahova Valley. The difference in level reached is 1900m. Marked with a red cross for the ascent and a yellow triangle for the descent, this route offers spectacular views, crossing remarkable places such as the Moara Dracului waterfall, and is ideal for walking between June and October. Of medium difficulty, it requires a good level of fitness to complete in 10-12 hours and is a memorable adventure for nature lovers.
